When traveling to Vejer, there are four main options for arriving in Spain by air. Jerez Airport at 75km from Vejer is the closest option. Car rental outlets are available, as are trains going towards Jerez and Cadiz. Another option for visitors traveling from the UK is Gibraltar Airport at 90km distance.
Other major airports that are well connected by highways to Vejer are Seville Airport at 155km and Malaga Airport 200km from Vejer.
follow signs for Cadiz on the A7. Continue preferably on the AP7 following signs towards Algeciras (the A7 will also get you there, but takes longer). Once at Algeciras the AP7 discontinues and the remaining distance is travelled on the older single-lane N340 again posted towards Cadiz. The N340 eventually joins the A48 highway and Vejer is the first exit on the dual-lane A48, Exit nº 36.
Once you leave the A48 at Exit 36, follow the 2km access road to Vejer, up the steep hill. As you approach the town there is a large free public parking area on the left hand side. Alternatively there is paid parking straight up the hill at “La Corredera” in the old town itself.
To arrive at Casa Shelly by car, continue past the Tourist Office and follow signs to “Centro Cuidad” and “Zona Monumental” At the following two junctions, keep following the signs for “Casa de la Cultura”. Drive up the very steep street of “Marques de Tamaron”, pass through the medieval gate and another 50m further down, just behind the main parish church is an offloading area reserved for hotels. Park your car here and if you prefer, call us and we’ll be happy to accompany you along the remaining steps to Casa Shelly.
